Billy, as I knew Carl, was one of my best friends growing up. He lived across the street from me. We had many adventures as kids, playing Army, hiking the shore of Kenai Lake where Billy's family had a cabin, almost drowning floating Cresent Creek in inner tubes, shooting off gunpowder rockets, camping at the Polly Wog pond in the woods below our houses, fishing with Mike McDowell and his dad at Anchor River, just to name a few.

I will always remember the good and bad times we had as kids. Like most friends we fought too. I wish his family the best and hope they know Billy is missed by us even today.
